Drive in

We decided to take the kids to the drive in for the first time. We saw Shrek 4 and Ironman. Kids and Brent slept threw Ironman. They loved it, bugs weren't that bad and there was a breeze. We had a lot of fun but I was pretty tired the next day. (we all were tired the next day) Snuggling up waiting for the movie to start!
Grace thought it would be comfortable to put her blanket on the rocks!!! Lets just say it didn't last long!
Getting cozy for the movie.
Brent hanging out waiting for the movie to start. I think he was trying to stay awake.
Kids were in the lawn chairs and Brent and I were in the back of the van...how was that comfortable?

Grace and Mom

Grace and I were having a quite morning (Noah was at school) and she was talking about Canada (like she does everyday) And then she says to me "Even though Nanny is not here...she is in here (pointed to her brain) and in here (she pointed to here heart) It was the cutest thing I had ever seen...It almost brought tears! I love my kids!

Grace reading minutes

At Graces preschool we log every min we read for the school year. Grace was so proud of her reading minutes she found the tape and taped her award on the wall for all to see!!

Noah's Kindergarden Graduation

Noah's big day!!! He is a big boy and mom is kinda sad. No more half day school:( Grace will miss him terribly next year. Good thing there is summer break so they can get sick of each other.
This day was Noah's first day of full day school...He looks tired!! Grace took a nap she is happy!!
Mrs Katie Day, Noah's teacher...Noah really liked her and she was awesome to volunteer for she likes to have fun.
Here he is reading his part. "It is important to always do our best. We should listen and follow directions. We should be respectful to adults. We should try to stay on blue!"
This is the class singing!! They were so cute.

Family fun

Lykins family outing kids had a lot of fun playing with each other.
Skyler, Erica, Gabby and Heidi.

Noah and Braden showing gang signs( I think Noah is saying "I love you")
Grace looking like a princess, posing for the camera.
Pitch-in to celebrate the May birthdays. It was beautiful day but then got really cold so we weren't at all prepared. Maryjo and cuddled up with a blanket...I hogged most of it obviously.

Strawberries

My first picking of strawberries. This is my second year, but the first year I was told just to break off the blooms so the next year there will be many more berries. And there are lots. The birds got to a few of them. (if I gave Brent permission he would love to take care of them for me). hehehehe

Grace says the strawberries are the "most awesome." It is hard to tell she is enjoying it but juice is dripping down her lip! She is deep in thought. She takes her fruits seriously!

Mothers day

For Mothers day this year we went to the Parrets for lunch. Even though Vicki and I cooked the meal it was really nice getting our families together. The boys did a puzzle, tried to catch a lizard and flicked ticks off.
Grace and Shad worked on this beautiful bouquet of flowers. Cutting any flower in the yard and all the weeds. It was beautiful!
Vicki and I had lots of desert and took a nap on the couch. It was short lived but all together a wonderful day. I have the best family.

Everything feels better with a bandaid

I was sitting at the kitchen table talking to my sister-in-law and Grace comes in. She just picked a scab on her lip and blood is everywhere. So I send her to the bathroom to get some toilet paper. She comes back about 5 min later looking like this. It was so funny!
Wasn't so funny when we pulled it off:(

Noah's school field trip

Noah's favorite thing about the zoo was seeing and petting the sharks. He had no fear of them. I on the other hand was a little nervous. I thought he would get to close to the head but he didn't.
He loved the penguins. He said "there is the penguin from surfs up." He also saw a clown fish in this part of the zoo and said "mom Nemo is real." I think he is going to be a marine biologist this was his favorite part of the zoo. Of course he did love the desert part but I chose not to take any pictures of the snakes. So maybe he will grow up to be a snake charmer!

My favorite part was the giraffes. You can get so close to them even feed them.

The rhinos were HUGE!!!
Baby baboon! He gave the boys quite a laugh. There was another baby and they were wrestling jumping, climbing they were everywhere.

Boys being monkeys!

Spring in Indiana

I love Indiana in the spring. This is my favorite tree on our property. Every year I think "I'm going to get a picture of it" and finally I did. (only 3 years later)
